Wedding Broom......?

Does anyone know where I can have a wedding broom made? I have received suggestions to go to Michaels and Garden Ridge, but both stores seem to have no idea what I am talking about or have the desire to create the broom for me.

I live in Fort Worth Texas, so anywhere in the DFW Metroplex would be fine.....or anywhere online!! Thanks so much in advance♥♥

Wedding Broom......?
Congratulations.!!! I am a wedding planner in Maryland and I have made many brooms for my couples. You can contact me .. www.gailsgalaevents.com or gailsgalaevents@yahoo.com. I have a few pictures on my website but I can customized the broom for your wedding.
Reply:do you know what the brook symbolizes, during slavery times, they slaves could not get married so to symbolize there commitment to each other they jumped the broom, but back to your question. They are easy to make, i live in Dallas now but got married in Mississippi, find a cinnamon broom then wrap the handle with ribbon then add flowers and maybe some baby's breathe. I will look for you and try to get back to you, I may still have my broom you can just redo it or for a small fee I can redo. IF I find it, take care and I will email again soon

Reply:Check Hobby Lobby or Flower Factory.com

Also fabric stores might have them. They are very easy to make as well
Reply:They aren't too difficult to make and it will be more meaningful if you do it yourself....

Michaels should have basic decorative brooms -- they have them in the wreath area. Just take one of those and add some silk/real flowers, ribbon, etc. You could even take baby pictures of you and your fiance and attach them to the handle or something.
Reply:I am from the Ft. Worth area as well...besides the two places you've named, I really don't think you'll find wedding brooms around our area. One last place I would check is Hobby Lobby, but I think they only have the supplies to make one. The only options would probably be to either make one/have one made by looking at pictures or ordering off the internet.

I assume you're talking about the traditional broom some African-American couples use at their wedding ceremony, known as "jumping the broom"...

If so, I found a website that I think will be beneficial to you. I think the internet will be the best way to go as far as purchasing one.

You can view the site at:

Hope I helped! =)
